The company was founded in 1979 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and expanded into the U.S. in 1997. There are currently over 50 locations throughout Brazil, the United States, Mexico and the Middle East. Opening its'​ doors in February 2018 Fogo de Chão Dubai showcases the centuries-old Southern Brazilian grilling technique of churrasco in Dubai’s sophisticated DIFC district, conveniently located near World Trade Centre, Emirates Towers and Downtown Dubai. The Middle East flagship location also offers the Fogo Bar and Lounge, complete with an extensive list of craft cocktails, elevated spirits and Brazilian bites, plus an outdoor courtyard and terrace shisha lounge boasting striking views of the Burj Khalifa.
